I’ve just revamped our home page and archive page to improve your experience on both desktop and mobile platforms. It’s the first major revamp in a decade, and it’s been on the to-do list for a few years now.

The blog was initially started one afternoon in 2016 after I bought a Nexo Knights set and thought, “Wow. That’s interesting. I have some things to say about this” 

Three hours later, the blog was live. It was constructed on the fly using a free WordPress theme, and has received a few gentle nudges along the way. A year or three later, Bailey Fullarton designed the initial logo, while my daughter Tash helped with the 10-year anniversary update.

But I have always found that a lot of the older posts are pretty difficult to find, and the phone experience was less than ideal.

After the revamp, you can now see up to 8 recent posts on the desktop home page with minimal effort, while the mobile experience should be a lot smoother, too.

It should be easier to search past content and connect on our socials.

I have a bit of ongoing work to do on taxonomy – tags and categories – to tidy things up a bit, but overall, I hope it will be a smoother experience.

There might be some further trims and polishes over the next few months, so feel free to let me know what works for you and what doesn’t.
