LEGO Super Mario Minifigures: Exciting 2027 Set Reveals

What a crazy world we live in where we are starting to see 2027 releases revealed in August. For the past 6 years, LEGO Supermario has been focussed on the playable game, with the interactive Brick Character, and buildable friends and enemies with scannable barcodes. Thrdr have been great fun to play with, but many fans of Super MArio have been clamouring for Minifigures scales sets from the outset.

72052 Mario’s Pipe Jump

This 61-piece set is aimed at builders aged 6 and up. The Warp Pipe module is iconic across all forms of Super Mario, regardless of how many dimensions Mario happens to be travelling through. The model measures 8cm high and 11cm deep. It is priced at $AUD 14.99 / £8.99 / 9.99€ / $USD 9.99.

Mario jumping out of a pipe, ready to begin his adventures is an image that many fans will recognise with familiarity and fondness. Recreate the action with Mario’s Pipe Jump (72052), featuring the all-new LEGO Super Mario minifigure. Kids aged 6+ can even catapult Goomba out of the way with the lever so Mario can collect his coin.

72054 Racing with Mario

This 84-piece set is aimed at builders aged 6 and up. Mario takes to the track in a compact kart, bringing a little of the racing action into brick-built form. The kart measures 7cm long, 5cm wide and 4cm high. It is priced at $AUD 22.99 / £12.99 / 14.99€ / $USD 14.99.

Get ready to race and earn coins with Racing with Mario (72054). The kart has a built-in launcher to send shells flying, but it’s up to Mario to swerve around the cone and Banana obstacles!

72055 Mario’s Beach Adventures

This 196-piece set is aimed at builders aged 6 and up. Mario heads for the seaside, with a beach bar, deckchair, wave and Sidestepper providing plenty of scope for a little coastal chaos. The bar measures 11cm high, 9cm long and 8cm wide. It is priced at $AUD 29.99 / £17.99 / 19.99€ / $USD 19.99

After a day of adventuring, head beachside with the Mario’s Beach Adventures (72055) set. Refuel with a sandwich and drinks from the refreshment stand or relax on the sun lounge, complete with a table, drink and umbrella for shade. Mario is in holiday mode with his swimming shorts, perfect for catching some waves, but keep an eye out for the Sidestepper!

72056 Luigi & Bowser Jr.’s Race

This 104-piece set is aimed at builders aged 4 and up. Luigi and Bowser Jr. take to the track in a Rally Kart and Charging Truck, bringing a simple racing showdown to younger builders. The Rally Kart measures 9cm wide and 4cm high, while the Charging Truck measures 9cm wide, 6cm long and 5cm high. It is priced at $AUD 44.99 / £26.99 / 29.99€ / $USD 29.99.

Luigi & Bowser Jr.’s Race (72056) invites kids to pit Luigi against Bowser Jr. in a thrilling race. Compete for the coin using shells and shell launchers but make sure the LEGO minifigures stay within the cones and avoid the Banana! This is the first time that the LEGO Group has released a LEGO Super Mario set for kids aged 4+, meaning even more fans can take part in the fun.

72057 Yoshi at Mario’s House

This 147-piece set is aimed at builders aged 4 and up. Yoshi pays a visit to Mario’s house, recreating one of the more familiar locations from the wider Super Mario world. The house measures 18cm high, 23cm wide and 14cm deep. It is priced at $AUD 59.99 / £34.99 / 39.99€ / $USD 39.99.

A second set designed for kids aged 4+, lets you hang out with Yoshi at Mario’s House (72057). Set in Mario’s house, the minifigures can play in the garden, chill in the bedroom or grab something to eat in the kitchen, using the fun green slide to travel between floors.

72058 Bowser’s Rumbling Race

This 409-piece set is aimed at builders aged 7 and up. Bowser joins the racing action with the Bowser Bruiser, accompanied by the Tune Thumper, Biddybuggy and Zoom Buggy. The Bowser Bruiser measures 10cm long, 7cm wide and 6cm high, while the other vehicles are rather more compact. It is priced at $AUD 89.99 / £54.99 / 59.99€ / $USD 59.99.

Get your race on with the epic Bowser’s Rumbling Race (72058) set, featuring the Bowser Bruiser, Toad in a Zoom Buggy, Goomba in a Biddybuggy and a brick-built Cow on the Tune Thumper. Each kart has cool racing features, including a shell launcher (that can also fling fire balls) or even flames out the back.

72060 Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle
This 850-piece set is aimed at builders aged 8 and up. Fire Mario heads into Bowser’s Castle for what looks to be the largest and most substantial build of this wave. The castle measures 26cm high, 36cm wide and 17cm deep. It is priced at $AUD 149.99 / £89.99 / 99.99€ / $USD 99.99.

Help Peach escape Bowser’s Castle in the Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle (72060) set. Located in an impressive fortress, Bowser, Koopa Troopa and Goomba are ready to defend the castle with lava balls and hidden traps, but that’s no match for Fire Mario, who can uncover a hidden treasure chest laden with coins along the way!

72061 Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle
This 241-piece set is aimed at builders aged 7 and up. Fire Luigi faces off against a Koopa Troopa around a castle tower and cannon launcher, giving the set a distinctly battle-oriented flavour. The tower measures 17cm high, 14cm wide and 10cm deep, while the cannon launcher measures 10cm wide, 6cm long and 8cm high. It is priced at $AUD 44.99 / £26.99 / 29.99€ / $USD 29.99.

Say hello to the Fire Luigi minifigure, included in Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle (72061). Fire Luigi must face off against Koopa Troopa to try and reclaim the tower which has been taken over! Load Fire Luigi into the cannon to launch him onto the tower and check for ? Blocks to reveal a Fire Flower.

The LEGO Group and Nintendo have a long history of partnership, launching the first interactive LEGO Super Mario building experiences in 2020 to capture all the action from the beloved video game series in a unique LEGO play system.

The refresh of the Super Mario theme will see building experiences arriving for LEGO Super Mario centred on creative LEGO minifigure roleplay, featuring iconic characters, karts, and environments from the Super Mario and Mario Kart universe.

Patrick Otley, Design Manager at the LEGO Group, said “This is an amazing celebration of our partnership with Nintendo, bringing Super Mario to LEGO minifigure form feels like the start of something special. Giving kids what they want and need to build and create their own stories and adventures was our ambition, extending and enhancing playtime through these iconic characters. We want to give our fans more freedom to play the way they want to, and with the addition of LEGO Super Mario minifigures, we hope kids will be even more inspired.”

These reveals do leave me wondering just what set 52059 will reveal…

While I have always enjoyed the buildable/interactive figures, there are plenty of people who will appreciate the arrival of these characters. The minifigure scale also means that there is a great chance to reduce the overall scale (and therefore prices) of the equivalent sets compared to the previous system. Indeed, the new price points are far more appetising, but don’t be fooled: you will be getting fewer bricks compared to the older Super Mario sets. We now have buildable Mario, Luigi and Bowser appearing in 3 different scales!

I do appreciate the variety of looks that we are seeing from Mario across the range.
