Ginger bread houses seem to have become a tradition at Christmas time. And this year, the Holiday themed Creator Expert set is seeking to bypass the Winter Village, and is instead taking a left turn toward fairy tales and make believe, and giving us a Gingerbread House with all the trimmings, but none of the calories.

Like Santa’s Workshop from 2014, this model is not set in the Winter Village, although it shares some of the design aesthetics, and colouring. However, I do love the windows, looking as if they are make from candies, and the door frame, as wells window frames, made from peppermint canes.
The Dead giveaway that this is not the winter village lies with the house being occupied by a gingerbread family:
Fun fact: in the Middle Ages, baking gingerbread was the sole responsibility of dedicated Gingerbread Bakers, except at Easter and Christmas, when anybody was allowed to bake it!
Bring the family together this Christmas to build the sweetest house of all, the LEGO Creator Expert Gingerbread House. This LEGO Creator Expert set is our biggest LEGO brick Gingerbread House ever and delivers a delightful build experience crammed full of delectable details and sweet treats.
This 1,477 piece model is crammed full of magical details including frosted roofs with colourful gum drop buttons and a delicious facade with brick-built candy-cane columns and glittery windows.
Press the chimney smoke button to activate the light brick and make the fireplace glow. Within the house there’s an array of details and candy furnishings including a tasteful bedroom with a chocolate bed and cotton candy lamp, and other festive decor.
The 1,477 piece building set measures over 8” (21cm) high, 10” (26cm) wide and 5” (13cm) deep creating plenty of space for the gingerbread family including a Gingerbread Man, Gingerbread Woman and Gingerbread Baby. This festive set includes a new for 2019 gold ingot element in tan and transparent 1×1 glitter bricks in purple.

The LEGO Creator Expert Gingerbread House is the 10th product in the LEGO Creator Winter Village line of products, this wonderfully festive product makes the perfect alternative festive decoration.
Looking through the pictures, you can see lots of neat parts usage. I am especially fond of the windows, as well as the use of the diamond elements to form the star on top of the Christmas tree. I am intrigued as to just why the Gingerbread family have a toilet, or indeed a bath, which I am pretty sure will just result in the loss of legs. Especially if filled with warm milk.
Certainly, the internal details are fantastic, and even if surplus to the gingerbread family, they will make the accomodationmore homely if regular Minifigures happen to move in.
The October Creator Expert is often a popular set in the run up to Christmas, especially with the unifying Winter Village motif. I love the look of this and look forward to getting it later in the year.
