It’s been a few months since the last Nike release, and today the classic Nike Air Max 95 has been officially revealed in brick-built form.
With 1213 pieces and one minifigure and priced at $AUD149.99 / $USD99.99 / 99.99€ / £89.99, the set will be released on March 28 2026. To my eyes, it appears to be one of the more interesting Nike Shoe releases to day – particularly when considering the different shades and textures featured in the model.
We continue our look at the September Nike releases today with a look at 43010 Nike Slam Dunk. When I first saw pictures of this set, I felt it was setting out to imitate the posters of the 80s and 90s, with creative photography photography capturing the action from around the court, the crowd looking on, with the Nike Sports Star front and centre. Does it succeed in this? Lets take a closer look.
I have to admit, 6 months ago, I had no idea what to expect from the LEGO-NIKE collaboration. It could have been all about producing replica life-size sneaker models, as well as LEGO-branded sneakers and other apparel, as we saw with Adidas a few years ago. However, we are also seeing some sets going in directions that we might not have expected. Branko took a look at the 43008 NIKE Dunk x LEGO set a little while ago, and today I will take a look at one of its younger brothers, the 43021 Nike Dunk Trickshot. These sets are all aimed at builders over 10 years, and this set brings an interesting mixture of replica shoe, basketball court, graffiti and minigame. Along the way, I explore my inner street artist…
Two new sets have been added to the LEGO x Nike roster – due for release on 1st September 2025 the 43010 Slam Dunk and 43021 Dunk Trickshot bring some contrasting basketball builds, inspiring vibes from posters of years gone by, as well as capturing the sens of fun we have come to associate with some of the LEGO Groups greatest collaborative efforts.
Several questions popped into my head when I saw this set announced, so when LEGO generously offered to send one over for review I considered it a great opportunity to explore some of these questions, such as “What?” “Why?” and “How?”
This set has left me confused. I cannot recall having been confused by a LEGO set before, so that is worth something. I am confused because it seems this set does not know what it wants to be. Initially the set feels like the designers wanted to create something that very strongly feels like “LEGO” in a basic way, but then suddenly you get hit with a curve(d)ball that does the exact opposite!
“43008 Nike Dunk x LEGO® Set“ is the first LEGO set released as part of LEGO and Nike’s partnership. This set was never intended to be a play-set, but rather an expression of fandom for Nike or sneakers or both. It contains 1180 parts and is available from the 1st of July for AU$149.99/£89.99/$99.99/€99.99.
This set consists of four parts; a sneaker, a minifigure, a basketball and a stand with the brick-built word ‘DUNK’. All these parts feel a little disconnected from each other, as if they do not belong together. Let the confusion commence!
Please join me while I explain my confusion about this set, while simultaneously exploring the change of LEGO as a toy company to… well… what it is now.
Last August, Nike and LEGO announced an upcoming multiyear collaboration. And then we heard nothing. Until today. Today, we have received out first glimpses of the results of the collaboration, with both LEGO and NIKE releasing collaborative products over the next few months.
Over the northern summer, we shall start to see footwear, apparel and LEGO Sets bearing both brands come to the market. There will be a couple of events occurring – a basketball themed experience at LEGOLand California and a LEGO-Football activation in London.
But first, we will see the release of the 43008 LEGO Nike DUNK set in July 2025 (preorders opening in some places now…) Read on for further details.
Today, the LEGO Group and Nike, Inc. announced a new multiyear partnership aiming to elevate the power of creative play and sport. Kicking off next year, we can probably to see a series of co-branded products combining the imaginative power of LEGO and the ‘Just Do It’ Spirit of the Nike brand
At this point, the exact results of the collaboration remain to be seen: Will we see some new LEGO shoes now that the Adidas partnership has kicked in? Will there be Nike sports-branded sets reminiscent of those from the early 00s? Will it be LEGO co-branded clothing with a LEGO GOAT on the front? (Greatest Of All Time)? Or will it be more like the last time NIKE collaborated with the LEGO Group back in 2002-2003? More on that later…
