Go Off the Grid with LEGO ICONS 11371 Shopping Street. [Review]

I have to admit, I have a rather soft spot for the annual modular set. When our family discovered that Adult Fans were a thing, back in 2009, we may well have picked up the modulars sets that were available at the time. Things have certainly changed over the years: faces have changed, flowers have changed, colours have exploded, and printed elements are more likely to replace a brick-built font on the building’s facade.

I was quite excited when the LEGO Group sent 11371 Shopping Street over for review, ahead of its January 1 2026 release. The set has 7 minifigures, 3456 pieces and will be priced at AUD 399.99/
£229.99/US$249.99/€249.99
.

This new Shopping Street – incorporating a musical instrument store and a furniture store/carpenter – brings a few features that left me feeling nostalgic for the early days of modular buildings, while at the same time, feeling fresh and innovative. Let’s take a closer look.

11371 Shopping Street is our Next Modular Building – January 1 2026 for LEGO® Insiders

It’s an annual highlight in the LEGO Fan’s calendar: the reveal of the Modular Building. Once part of Creator Expert, and now ICONS, Modular buildings were my gateway drug, deranging me down a slippery slope into accepting life as an Adult Fan of a Children’s toy, over 15 years ago.

This year’s model does not disappoint me.

We have two buildings-!- music shop and a furniture store (with an upstairs workshop), separated by an angled alleyway. They are joined by connecting walkways at the first and second floors.

LEGO ICONS SET 11371 Shopping Street will be priced at $AUD399.99/ $USD249.99 / 249,99 EUR / £229.99 The set will be released on January 1 2026 has 3456 pieces and seven minifigures- two of whom are twins.

Due for release on January 1 2025, I was delighted to be sent a copy of the set for review by the LEGO Group. All opinions are my own.

Now, what would you expect to find in a set that represents such a milestone? A nod to the Traditions of the past? Innovations? New parts or recolours? Neat techniques? Storytelling? All of the above? Let’s take a look inside and find out.

I may have dived in too deep…

40757 Corner Kiosk- Review.

The 2025 LEGO ICONS Modular Building: 10350 Tudor Corner has arrived here at Rambling Brick HQ, and we have put the build together. BUT It’s one of the most detailed Modular buildings to date, and I want to do the review justice. So today, I’ll present the Gift With Purchase that will be available during the first week or so of January next year: 40757 Corner Kiosk.

The Corner Kiosk evokes the ubiquitous street vendor, sheltered in his small kiosk, selling snacks, newspapers and postcards. Like those seen with previous modular, it also evokes the bygone era of the modular series.

2025’s Modular Building Revealed: 10350 Tudor Corner

It’s that most wonderful time of the year: sure, Christmas is coming, and the advent calendars are opening day by day. But more importantly, the latest LEGO® modular building has finally been revealed.

Modular buildings have a special place in my heart: back when I discovered such as thing as an AFOL, the modular buildings were just taking off. This was a time when the Modular buildings were a cornerstone of the AFOL experience. With only a handful of adult-focused sets being released each year, the modular was the one purchase most people seemed to agree with, whether they were otherwise into cars, trains or Star Wars.

These days, we see sets focused on grown ups being launched every other week. It is almost routine and mundane. But still, the modular always feels special.

10264 Corner Garage Modular Revealed

The Modular buildings have been a highlight of the release calendar for many AFOLs.  After years feeling as though they were set in a golden age, with an architectural style from the 1920, and happy smiley faces everywhere. In 2017, we celebrated a decade of what would now be called the Creator Advanced Modular buildings with the release of assembly square, with nods to the entire previous series in that set.  And then everything changed.

The 2018 modular building, Downtown Diner had a sleek new look: taking its architectural cues from the 1950s (60th anniversary LEGO Brick Patent celebration any one?), and replacing the traditional minifigure smiley face with more contemporary designs. And the return of Teal. Lots of Teal! Since then, there has been some speculation about the future directions of the modular line: Would the architectural style return to the older style we had become used to? Will it be a street corner or straight street? Would the smiley’s return? and even “Will there even be another modular building?”

Today, the LEGO Group has revealed the 2019 release: the corner garage.  Continuing on in the 1950s style we see the action spread out over three levels: A corner garage on the ground floor, a veterinarian’s office on the next level, and then an apartment on the upper level.

The set comes with a great range of minifigures, and while many of the torsos have been seen before, some are certainly new. Looking at our cast of characters, I believe the vet and the Motor Scooter rider have new torsos.  The face with sunglasses appears similar to one seen before, although there appears to be a deliberate skin blemish on this one ( technically making it new.). I see Jo the mechanic has a cap with some of her hair showing underneath.
