7314 Recon Mech RP was part of the Life On Mars theme in 2001. The theme was one of the first Mech Heavy themes, before Monkie Kid, Ninjago, Nexo Kights and Exo Force. Even Marvel Super Heroes.
71785 Jay’s Titan Mech has some amazing details, and remarkably few studs on view.
The Bone warriors featured in the #ninjagocore sets this year are suitably terrifying. However, I wonder if they have bitten off more than they can chew in 71785 Jay’s Titan Mech.
Life on mars (2001) saw the release of a couple of Mechs that were essentially stacked bricks and click hinges. Over the next couple of years the proliferation of balljoints, brackets and curved slopes would allow the design of LEGO Mechs as we know them today. #LEGO #legomech #ninjago #lifeonmars #legothenandnow #ramblingbrick
40587 Easter Basket is coming soon as a Gift with purchase: from 16 march-9 April. With a threshold of 70usd/70€/£65 it’s one of more attainable GWPs this year. It’s got some neat techniques- including the pot, and the flowers just make this set pop. You can read my full review here:
At our LUG meeting yesterday, these two LEGO Mechs were built: one is 7313 Red Planet protector from 2001’s LIFE ON MARS- it was won in a MOC contest by Travis 20 years ago, and is resplendent in the combination of bright blue, sand blue and more.
