Botanical Disney: 43237 Isabela’s Flowerpot

Today, Branko takes a look at another type of set featuring floral builds: a Disney Botanical set, specifically 43237: Isabela’s Flowerpot. This set was provided by the LEGO Group for review purposes at our request.

The LEGO Group have been releasing more and more variations of non-wilting flowers over recent years, kicking it into high gear with the Botanical Collection in 2021. We’re currently buzzing with excitement of the release of the 21353 LEGO Ideas Botanical Gardens (€329.99 / £289.99 / $329.99 / 429.99 CAD / 499.99 AUD), but today we would like to have a look at yet another botanical theme I would loosely call ‘Disney Flowerpots’ consisting of two sets to date:
43237 Isabela’s Flowerpot (AU$69.99/£39.99/$39.99/€44.99)
and 43252 Moana’s Flowerpot (AU$69.99/£39.99/$39.99/€44.99)

The set based on Moana was released a few months after Isabela suggesting that this may be an ongoing series of sets based on Disney characters. Today, we will explore Isabela’s Flowerpot to see what it offers to the ever-expanding field of botanical LEGO sets.

They had me in Stitches!

Today, Branko takes a look at several Stich models, and considers how models are displayed in LEGO Stores around the world..

Years ago (2016) I bumped across this Stitch model on LEGO Ideas and I fell in love with it. Regardless whether or not the idea would get approved by LEGO Ideas, I set about building this wonderful creature based on instructions by Tyler Clites (who went on to win US LEGO Masters season 1 with Amy Clites in 2020).

This year, LEGO suddenly released its own design of a larger Stitch model,43249, (affiliate link), which I obviously bought as soon as I could.

In relation to this new Stitch set, I made two observations how LEGO sets are displayed in store: this varies a lot per store and per country, and I like getting a bit of inspiration beyond ‘what’s in the box’.

43242 LEGO®|Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cottage Officially revealed

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Walt Disney’s first Animated feature, in a world where cartoons were 7 minutes long. At 93 minutes, it exceeded expectations, and remains a favourite around the world. As a kid, I found myself consistently frustrated by my ability to only remember 6 dwarfs at any one time. With the benefit of Google, I can tell you that they were Doc, Gumpy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy ,Sneezy and Dopey. Six out of those seven dwarfs are not happy.

Today, the LEGO Group announce the upcoming release of the Dwarfs cottage from the feature film, complete with all of the dwarfs, Snow white, Prince Charming and the Evil, poisoned-apple-bearing Hag! The set has 2228 pieces and will retail for  €219.99 / £189.99 / $USD219.99/$AUD399.99/1899 CNY/89990 HUF/$CAD289.99/5399 MXN. It goes on sale to Insiders members on March 1st, and every one else on June 1…3 months later! (awaiting confirmation that I actually read this correctly!)
