10366 LEGO® Icons Tropical Aquarium Revealed

LEGO® Icons set 10366 Tropical Aquarium displayed in a bright room, featuring colorful coral and fish built from LEGO pieces.

The latest LEGO® Icons set has been revealed, a 4154 piece model of a tropical aquarium.

If you have been observing the range adult-focused LEGO models released over the past few years, you will have noticed a number of recurring , popular subjects for realisation in LEGO models. One is the Botanical collection, debuting as a subset of ICONS in 2021, life size flower models have taken the world by storm, and (re) introduced LEGO Bricks to people who may not have picked one up for years. In parallel with this, life size real-world objects have become a trend that transcends third party IP: starting with the LEGO Ideas Typewriter, taking in a Globe of the World, Harry Potter artefacts, Disney Villain VHS cassettes, video game consoles and sports shoes.

And today we see a set revealed that combines the two: a collection of corals and anenomes that rival the Botanical collection in their crazy, colourful parts usage in the outline of a fishtank that looks to be the right size to fill up a dentist’s office.

Set 10366 has 4154 pieces and will be priced at $AUD699.99 / $USD479.99 / €449.99 / £399.99. It goes on sale on the 13th of November 2025. Let’s see what we know from the press release:

Diagram illustrating dimensions and design elements of the LEGO® Icons Tropical Aquarium model, showing a variety of aquatic plants and structures.

The model measures 52 cm wide by 36 cm high, and appears to be at least 32 studs (25cm – probably more) deep (I’ll measure it more closely when I get the chance), making it over 46 litres in capacity. This might make for the rare occasion that one of these life size LEGO Models is less expensive that its real world counterpart.

Here’s the ever so brief product description:

The model takes several different aquatic plants, as well as corals and anemones, and gives them the Botanicals treatment: recolouring elements based on their shape and resemblance to the forms seen in nature.

Colorful LEGO fish models in various designs with intricate detailing.

Certainly, when you see these pictures from a distance, it is challenging to discern that the plants are all built from LEGO Elements – the fish might be slightly less easy to recognise, and don’t specifically appear to be direct replicas of any particular fish – with the exception of the clown fish, although it is perhaps a little oversized.

If you look closely at the fish, there appears to be a new element, featured in the tails and fins of the fish. This element appears to have a shot bar connection only – we will take a closer look when I write my review.

The set sports a few action features: making fish swim, and crab hide, while air bubbles emerge from a treasure chest ornament on the floor of the tank. I am surprised, looking at it the model overall, that there is no obvious filter present, as that is one of the defining features of a fish tank.

The model looks beautiful in these pictures, and I am surprised at how well the use of curved medium azure tiles on the larger plates gives the impression of swirling water.

As I have hinted, I am looking forward to bringing my review of this set to you in the near future. Looking at these images, I am impressed by the way that LEGO Bricks are able to take on such gorgeous organic forms.

But will it add up to $699.99 worth? If you don’t want this set, dont worry: it will probably introduce a whole new crowd of people to LEGO building – like the LEGO Ideas Minerals collection which has been perpetually out of stock since it was released – there are more creative minds at work in Billund than ever before, and there has been such a broadening of the product portfolio that I don’t think you should worry about this model being produced at the expense of that thing you would prefer to build. This looks like it will occupy a lot more shelf space than the 31122 Creator 3in1 Aquarium but I am intrigued to see just how it feels as it comes together.
