New Botanicals: Bringing elegance on a budget

In recent years, one of the most successful of the LEGO Group’s adult-focused subthemes has been the Botanical Collection. Featuring an unprecedented amount of neat parts usage while keeping the pricepoint reasonably affordable, this theme has captured a new audience for the building brick. To say nothing of the increased cries of “That’s not LEGO®!” when people come and look at the display shelves. Today, the company officially unveiled the latest two sets in this series LEGO®Chrysanthemum (10368) and the LEGO® Plum Blossom set (10369). These two sets take the aesthetic sensibilities of the Orchid and Bird of Paradise and shrink them down to a sub-$USD30 ($AUD50) pricepoint!

While some of the sets in this series follow the ‘bring your own pot’ dictum, these two sets bring their own brick-built flower pots to the game. I am particularly fond of the price point of these sets, which works out at € 29.99/ $US29.99 / £24.99 /$AUD49.99.

10368 LEGO Chrysanthemum

This beautiful LEGO recreation comes with posable leaves and petals and depicts the vivid-orange flower in various stages of growth, capturing the flower in various stages, including one in full bloom, one blossoming and two in bud. The plant is nestled in a pastel green flowerpot with a golden band and wood-effect plinth.

  • Price: € 29.99/ $29/99 / £24.99 /49.99 AUD/269 CNY/11990 HUF/39.99 CAD/759 MXN
  • Pieces: 278
  • Dimensions: Measures over 10.5 in. (26 cm) high, 4 in. (10 cm) wide and 3.5 in. (9 cm) deep
  • Available: Pre-order from 26th June, launch 1st August

I low the effect achieved through the use of multiple bananas in multiple colours here, including the new reddish-orange colour that was introduced this year. The small pot, on its plinth, is really elegant.

10369 LEGO Plum Blossom

Embark on a tranquil journey with the LEGO® Icons Plum Blossom building project for adults. This detailed interpretation depicts the iconic winter flora with its elegant stem and vivid red and magenta flowers. This 327-piece set comes in a pastel-blue flowerpot with a golden band and wood-effect plinth and is easy to assemble. Delivering a rewarding building experience, this set makes a beautiful, easy-care flower display for the home and office.

This set adapts techniques used in the Cherry Blossom and Orchid sets, coupling them with the sand blue elements of the bot to create an entirely new design, unique in the range.

With 6 in 10 (58%) of adults admitting to spending less than one hour a day relaxing*, both new sets offer an opportunity to spend quality time with friends or family to create a mindful project and assist with relaxation.

The LEGO Chrysanthemum (10368) and the LEGO Plum Blossom set (10369) and will be available to pre-order from June 26 via LEGO stores and from select leading retailers around the world.

Both sets will be priced at $US29.99/€29.99/AUD49.99/£24.99
