New space-themed Minifigures in the BUILD A MINIFIGURE Station were revealed at an AFOL event put on by Australian LEGO Certified Stores tonight. The three figures are part of a wider assortment, but I was possibly a bit distracted to notice what else was becoming available…(skip to the end to see that pack)
These figures draw heavily on this year’s LEGO City space sets for inspiration. Read on to see them in greater detail.

First, the Scientist. She has bright green sleeves and dark blue gloves, on the standard city Space torso.. Her double-sided head has a smirk on one side and a quizzical expression while wearing a pair of red safety glasses on the other. She has bright red hair and carries a data pad, similar to those seen in the sets.

The senior pilot has a different helmet, although it is not new, and a moustachioed face with beard stubble. He has a scared expression on the reverse. As an accessory, he has a new print of some shoulder armour (I cannot recall if this is a new mould or not). It features dark blue line work, with the Space logo front and centre, as well as a couple of studs on the back.
And the totally new guy.

This friendly alien has a lime green head with a new face-print, and is wearing a headpiece that gives him antennae. It was previously seen with Killer Month in the LEGO Batman Movie figures and the Killer Moth Mighty micro. He has a new torso print, with a diagonal line reminiscent of Futuron. He has a white arm and a black arm, both with dark blue gloves. Is he on the command track? Does he work security? Today, he is wielding an Erlenmeyer flask, containing something purple!

The new printed torso does bring some futuron/space police vibes about it, and I couldn’t help by experiment with some other parts and heads. Of course, the BAM station allows you to mix and match whatever parts you choose, to customise your look even further.

There were a few other figures that I didn’t spend too much time looking at…

I expect these figures will become more common over the course of the next few months as they roll out world wide.
It was great to see some of the new torsos ahead of May 1st, and the store had a couple of the May Star Wars Brickheadz releases on the shelves early. The event is part of a regular community outreach that some of the Alquemie Certified Stores run a couple of times per year, with games and discounts on the Pick a Brick Wall. thanks to the team at Doncaster for inviting members of the Melbourne LEGO community along tonight.
What do you think of these new figures? A bit ho-hum? Or a great addition to the Space line up ? why don’t you leave your comments below.
