A few weeks ago, we got our first look at three of the sets in August’s Dreamzzz sets via the Mexican Certified Store. Today, the remainder of the August Dreamzzz range has been revealed on LEGO.com. We gain a little bit of an insight into some of the issues facing our heroes in season 2: Night of the Never Witch (due for release on May 17, follow the link to see the trailer) – including increased involvement from the Never Witch, dark doppelgangers of our heroes, Ravens, Puffer Jackets, red pandas and legally-not-Groot.

These sets are due for release on August 1, and I expect you will be able to find them wherever you buy your LEGO sets.

With 226 pieces, Zoey’s motorcycle converts to a jet propelled cat!

81480: Logan the Mighty Panda

I’m trying to work out if this is actually Logan turning into a panda or something else, so I can’t wait to find out what is actually happening here. We get Logan’s dreamer form: this year, he is wearing normal clothes, but still blue. Ne also get his black and purple Nightmare copy. 342 pieces

71481 Izzie’s Dream Animals

Is this Izzy imagining she is in the Guardians of the Galaxy, accompanied by legally not Rocket Raccoon and legally not Groot? I don’t know, but that red panda is terribly cute. There are 3 animal forms here – with a heavy emphasis on the new reddish-orange. 328 pieces

71483 The Never Witch’s Nightmare Creatures

With the choice of a raven, wolf or a bird man? this looks like one of the most impressive mid-sized sets of the wave. We get Mateo and Madteo in their puffer jackets, along with Logan’s dark doppelganger and the Never Witch. The Never Witch’s beasts include a crow/raven and wolf, and could that possibly be a dark doppelganger for Z-Blob? 457 pieces

71486 Castle Nocturnia

Finally, Castle Nocturnia – this model is doing my head in. Designed to be positioned in any of three ways up, Nocturnia is the home of Filippo Achaemenid Darius Cambyses – but you can call him Phil. This was a key location in the second half of season one, and I am excited to see it replicated in brick-built form here. We also have Phil, Izzy/ Dizzy/Matteo/Madteo/Mrs Castillo, the Never Witch, Sneak and several dreamlings. The castle has a garden, a golden palace tower, and a more traditionally coloured castle tower. The final arrangement would challenge the sensibilities of MC Escher on a good day. And I am not sure this is a good day. The set has 1742 Pieces.

What so you think of these builds? I am intrigued by the omnipresent ravens and the dark-doppelgangers of our heroes. Each character seems to be experiencing a subtle shift in their colour palette this season, although I am glad the villains maintain their Black/purple/coral hues this season. Overall, this looks like a really strong wave, with sets at most price points. I cant wait to see them in real life!
