Brickvention 2023 is only 2 weeks away. Australia’s Premier LEGO Fan Event has been at the mercy of public health orders over the last couple of years, with an online event and another at an alternative venue: This year they are back at the heritage listed Royal Exhibition Buildings on the norther fringe of the Melbourne CBD.
Tickets are now on sale for the Public Expo of 21-22 January 2023. The opening session on Saturday Morning has sold out, with the other Saturday and Sunday Morning sessions filling up fast.
Sunday Morning opens with a Special Needs session – The session environment includes low volume and less frequent announcements and fewer people. The session is also longer, with 40 minutes before the next session is admitted.
Tickets are now available here.
I have been working frantically finishing off my models this week…and I dare say I shall be until the moment that we move into the Exhibition building in just under 2 weeks.
After 2 years in the wilderness, the community is excited to be coming back together, with plenty of interstate and international visitors bringing their models along, and showing off what we have been up to in ther mean time.
I am also excited, as there will be a public Expo debut of the Minifigures on Parade format which we introduced last year, and which was used when we ran our classic themes challenge with @brickfambuilds on instagram last year.
This year is also the 10th Anniversary of LEGO Legends of Chima. I have prepared a small tribute, providing an… alternative history which will also be on display.
Look Out for me there…I will have some tiles for Readers of the Blog, as well as for listeners of the Extra Pieces podcast. Send me a message when you are on your way in
I have a family pass to give away: to enter the random draw tell us what you are looking forward to at Brickvention, either in the comments section below, or on Facebook. It’s for 2 adults and 2 children. Entries Close on Midnight, Wednesday, 11th January AEST.
I can’t wait to get back to the Exhibition Building, and catch up with friends that it has been just too long since I last saw! Until Next time,
