LEGO® Creator Expert Harley Davidson® Fat Boy® [10269 Announcement]

In recent years, we have seen the LEGO Creator Expert line reimagine some classic vehicles, including the Volkswagen Microbus, the Mini Cooper, Astin Martin DB5 (James Bond edition) and the London Bus. Today, we see the announcement of the latest vehicle in this series, the 10269 Harley Davidson Fat Boy.

The set will be available 17th July for VIPs, and 1st August for general availability. US $99.99 – CA $139.99 – DE €89.99 – UK £84.99 – FR €94.99 – DK 799DKK – AUS $159.99 AUD. Available on the 17th of July.

With over 1000 elements, Senior Designer Mike Psiaki has paid attention to the details the ‘real version’ of the bike – bringing this model to life. With moving engine cylinders, as well as a steerable front wheel and kickstand. While the use of chromed elements for the motor elements would have been nice, the relative consistency of the medium stone grey elements still works quite well.

Here, you can compare the LEGO Version with the model from the 2019 Harley Catalog (albeit not in the wicked red approximated by the use of Dark Red in the LEGO version).

RIDERS REJOICE AS LEGO GROUP INTRODUCES LEGO®CREATOR EXPERT HARLEY-DAVIDSON® FAT BOY®

Billund, Denmark (July 9, 2019) – Today, The LEGO Group revealed its latest LEGO® Creator Expert model –a Harley-Davidson® Fat Boy® that will cruise into LEGO Stores globally on August 1, 2019.

Developed in collaboration with Harley-Davidson, this detailed LEGO interpretation of the iconic Milwaukee motorcycle captures the beauty of the real-life machine with finishes, surfaces, and design elements crafted to replicate the full-size Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. Featuring 1,023pieces, the model comes complete with solid-disc wheels, teardrop fuel tank, integrated speedometer, and dual exhaust pipes.

The finished model measures over 7 inches (20 cm) high, 7 inches (18 cm) wide and 12 inches (33 cm) long and features several moveable parts for owners to engage.

-Spin the rear tyre to see the Milwaukee-Eight® engine with moving pistons and dual exhaust pipes, spring to life.

-Turn the handlebar, move the gear shift and brake levers, and flip down the motorcycle’s kickstand for easy parking.

-Finished with an authentic dark red and black color scheme withHarley-Davidson® logos on each side reflective of the 2019 Fat Boy motorcycle’s Wicked Red paint scheme, it’s a perfect display centerpiece for any home, office, or anywhere to channel the inspiration to ride.

To celebrate the launch, LEGO Master Builders created a life-size model of the motorcycle, complete with silver coated parts, Wi-Fi animation control, sound and light effects to imitate a real Harley-Davidson® FatBoy® and 6,000 special LEGO elements. The extraordinary creation took 865 hours to build, is made of 69,569 pieces and will be on display at select LEGO stores and Harley-Davidson events for fans to see. I really like the job that has been done here, recreating the lines of the Harley Davidson Fat Boy. While it might not contain the same level of mechanical functionality that you might expect from a technic set, it certainly reconstructs the look of source material nicely. The set goes on sale next week for VIPs at LEGO retail stores and Shop@home, with general availability from 1st August
