If you have been following the blog over the last few months, you might have noticed a certain bias towards Space themed building. Those who attend Brickvention this weekend (Royal Exhibition Buildings, Melbourne, 20-21 January 2018) will gain some insight as to why.
It goes without saying that it excites me to discover the LEGO Moments In Space competition running over on the LEGO Ideas website until February 9th, 2018.
The challenge: design a space oriented model, with a view to it being developed as a gift with purchase over the next year or two. It should fit on a 16×16 plate, and can be real or speculative.Given the upcoming 40th anniversary of LEGO Classic Space (2018-2019 depending on where in the world you are standing), this strikes me as a timely opportunity.
Prizes
The Grand Prize winner will receive a selection of the Gifts with purchase offered over the last few years, a $250 LEGO.com shopping spree and the chance for the set to be developed into a gift with purchase for distribution at LEGO Stores, LEGOLAND, LEGOLAND Discovery Centres and shop.lego.com.
Ten runners up will receive 3 recent gift with purchase sets, and a $125 shopping spree. Entries may be photographs or digital builds.
Further details, including the rules, can be found at Ideas.lego.com, under the contest heading in the menu.
Inspired? You have until February 9th to submit your entry.
Until next time…
