There are a few things that make playing Mario Kart Fun: one is beating the computer powered racers around the track. Another is thwarting the efforts of your families and friends by throwing bananas and shells at them. The Standard Kart was missing any form of Power-up. Today we look at the 72031 Yoshi Bike. With a Brick-built Yoshi, Yoshi themed cycle, and a new Mario Kart ‘?’ Brick, it has the potential to make the race a bit more fun. How will it turn out? Is it worth adding this $AUD19.99/USD14.99/€14.99/ £12.99 set to grid?

Lets take a look. We will explore the build, look at the power-up – use it in a single-player time trial and a two-player race, and see how the experience pans out for us. We shall also see how legacy powerups (Yellow ? blocks, POW, Time Bonus, Star Power and Super Mushroom) work in this setting.

Yep, that’s Kawasaki green: 42170 Kawasaki Ninja H2R Review.

Branko’s been away for a couple of weeks too. He took the 42170 to the Netherlands, while visiting his family… Reasons follow!

When receiving the LEGO® 42170 Kawasaki Ninja H2R motorcycle I considered how qualified I was to review a motorcycle. While my sons, wife and me all ride (or have ridden) motorbikes, it seemed appropriate to bring this set with me when visiting my dad, who has ridden motorcycles for more than half a century and is more knowledgeable and passionate about these two wheelers than anyone I know. Apologies upfront for the quality of photos; I was not able to bring a photo setup; my dad lives on the other side of the planet.

The new 42170 Kawasaki Ninja H2R contains 643 pieces with a recommended retail price of AU$99.99/£69.99/US$84.99/€79.99. This is the spiritual successor in the mid-sized-Technic-motorcyle-class to the 42063 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure from 2017 and the 42107 Ducati Panigale V4 R from 2020. These are not to be confused with the BIG motorcycles from LEGO like the 42159: Yamaha MT-10 SP and 42130: BMW M 1000 RR that contain almost three times more pieces.

First thing my dad noted when seeing the set was “Yep, that’s Kawasaki green, strange they are usually more green, but I guess they make black ones too.” As it turns out this particular model is indeed sold as largely black with some Kawasaki green accents which are captured nicely in the LEGO model. How does the rest of the model stack up compared to the real thing? Read on to see if this set is worth adding to your collection.

Ninjagopalooza23 Part I: EVO/Core sets: Hands-On Reviews: 71781,71783,71787

I hinted a couple of weeks ago about my fondness for the intrinsic ‘spirit’ of series such as Ninjago and Monkie Kid – they are both sci-fi fantasy themes and, as such, bring us the closest thing to Classic Space and Castle themes that we are likely to see on an ongoing basis for the time being.

We have seen the first half year present a ‘Core’ Range for Ninjago, while the second half of last year tied in closely with the animated series.

Earlier in the year, I joined several other Fan Media in a conversation with Niek van Slagmaat and Markus Rollbühler, both part of the Ninjago team, about the ‘Core’ Series – the sets we saw released in January, with seemingly no connection to the series, beyond the presence of those Core Ninjago values: Mechs, Vehicles, Dragons, Dojos and of course, Ninja.

LEGO® Technic Ducati Panigale V4 R Unveiled, for June Release

Since Technical sets debuted in 1977, motorcycles have been a feature of the range. The level of detail comes and goes, as does the playability. The most recent ‘serious’ motorcycle set was 2017’s BMW R1200 GS Adventure, an off road bike. Since then we have seen a couple of play feature/stunt cycles. We haven’t seen a street or track bike since 2015.

The release of the Ducati is the first track bike released for some years, and represents the new Ducati Panigale V4 R
