Are you ready to celebrate your favorite Hogwarts™ house? Spend focused time building 1 of 4 different crests or collect all 4 sets to make the ultimate Hogwarts crest. The included Soundtrack enhances your experience and immerses you deeper into the project as you create the art piece. Once the build is complete, add the exclusive Harry Potter™ logo tile and proudly display your allegiance!

As you can see from the pictures above, the colour palette is a little more muted than for some of the other LEGO Art range. However, as each set can make any of the 4 crests, there is a variety of elements available, in black, white, dark stone grey, medium stone grey, green, blue bright red and yellow (or is it pearl gold?). The main coloured elements are studs, rather than tiles. There is also a 2×4 printed tile, with the Harry Potter logo on it. As with other sets in the LEGO Art set, there is also a frame to surround the crest, as well as 9 16×16 Technic Bricks, as well as the ‘hanging piece’ – allowing the mosaic to be hung on the wall.

With 4249 elements, each set offers a significantly higher number of elements compared to the other art sets. with 187 elements dedicated to the base and framing. This brings us a total of 4062 studs in total in the box. I hope to receive a copy to review Real Soon Now (it appears to be at the courier’s local processing centre as we speak) and will confirm the element counts as soon as I can.

In the mean time, if you are not a fan of the subject matter, you still get a collection of colours to make your own mosaic with, as well as a significant number of black, white and grey elements. Maybe useful for ballasting a ghost train, or making a smaller black and white portrait? I suspect the scope for different subject matter will be significant, particularly with software such as Stud.io now incorporating a mosaic maker function. the other colours appear to be Dark Red, Bright Blue, Dark Green (you know, the normal one) and warm gold. There are small quantities of medium azur, bright red and bright yellowish green.

I will bring a review of the mosaic option itself soon, and look forward to exploring some LEGO Art options, going forward. Perhaps the colour mix will allow us to do a remix of some of the other mosaics? Time will tell.

The LEGO ART Harry Potter Hogwart’s Crests will go on sale on January 1, 2021
