So far we have looked at the three smallest Overwatch sets- Tracer vs Widowmaker; Hanzo vs Genji and Dorado Showdown. Today’s set does not appear to be loaded with the intrinsic antagonism that the three previously reviewed playsets were. From what I can gather from Harry, the Gamer in our house, these two characters do not have an intrinsic rivalry, but rather exist independently of each other in Overwatch Lore. In our third review of LEGO Overwatch sets, we enter a new environment: the Dorado Map. As I have previously discussed, while looking at Tracer vs WidowMaker as well as Hanzo vs Genji, I have not played much Overwatch, and so I have turned to my teenage son for information about the characters as well as the nature of the gameplay, and how they might relate to the LEGO Sets. Today, we world of the neo-wild west, where we meet Reaper, Soldier: 76 and McCree.
We will look at the minifigures, the builds, compare these with reference artwork, and see if the build has anything to offer the AFOL who is not an overwatch fan.Continue reading
When it was recently announced that we were getting a forthcoming range of LEGO® sets based on the Overwatch Video Game, I was a little intrigued. A game that I perceived as a shooter becoming a licensed line of LEGO sets? While it may not be entirely my thing, it is a game that has occupied many of my son’s off hours over the last year or so. I thought “Terrific – a chance for us to bond and for me to get to understand this thing a bit better.”
As a newcomer to the world of Overwatch, I found myself confronted with a wide variety of what appeared to be confusing information. I am an AFOL, not an Overwatch Player; and it is from that perspective that I write.
