The Eagle Has Landed: Announcement/Official Images of 10266 Lunar Lander

This  year, we celebrate 50 years since Apollo 11 took Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin to the surface of the moon.  Given the popularity of space themed sets, it is hardly a surprise that there have been a LEGO set released for the occasion.

LEGO have today announced the arrival of a new Creator Expert set, a take on the Lunar Lander. It will become generally available on June 1.

Rambling Brick: Far From Home

I’m off travelling for a few weeks: After attending the Fan Media Days in Billund, I am heading to a conference via Hamburg and LEGOLAND Germany, before attending the Fan Weekend at Paredes de Coura, in Portugal.

The Fan Media Days are over now, and I will write up more from then soon, but I a feeling a little far from home.

One of the surprising things at LEGOLAND Billund, is that often new release sets hit the shelves a few days early, and it was here that I found some of the new minifigure packs for the second half of the year, which is almost upon us. They don’t take up too much space in my luggage… so I picked a few up.

Today, I’d like to look at set 40343 – Minifigure Pack. Stop now if you don’t want any spoilers from Avengers Endgame.

The team at BrisBricks are busy building towards their first LEGO® Fan Expo for the year on May 25-26. Now in its seventh year and growing, the annual expo BrisBricks organises on Brisbane’s north has moved to a bigger and newer venue at Morayfield Sport & Events Centre.

BrisBricks LEGO Fan Expos have welcomed thousands of patrons over the years to be amazed and excited by the visually stunning exhibits and this year is looking even better. Our energetic team of clever builders and volunteers freely donate their time, displaying their own creations and personal collections that will take children and adults on a magical journey through the ages of LEGO.

Today, Gamesloft Studios, in conjunction with LEGO Games, have unveiled their latest offering, coming later in the year, the nostalgia filled LEGACY Heroes Unboxed. The Rambling Brick had a chance to get a sneak preview with the developers from GameLoft Studios.

First Images Technic Powered Up Hub

I’m in Billund today, taking part in the Fan Media Days. We have just had a presentation from the Powered Up team.

We have now seen the new technic hub unveiled, as well as two new motors designed to run with the platform.

The new Technic hub has 4 ports, as well as connectors around the border. Unlike the current Smart Hub used in LEGO City trains, it will be powered by AA Rather than AAA Batteries.

Disney Habitat Winners Announced

The time has come to announce the winners in the Rambling Brick’s Disney Minfigure Habitat Challenge. Overall, there were 33 entries from 22 people, sent in from all over the world. With a set of Series 2 Collectable Minifigures to be won, as well as Prizes from the LEGO Store, courtesy of the LEGO Group’s AFOL Engagement Team, I had a panel of judges, consisting of several winners of previous ‘Rambling Brick’ Competitions, help me out. I’m glad I did, because there were some amazing entries!
